31st August 2015 to August 2021 (Study leave Sept. 2017 to July 2019): Teaching Assistant/ Teaching Roles, Dept. of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Egerton University

  • Taught units: Construction Engineering Management; Environmental Systems & Management; Groundwater Engineering;
  • Proposed project: proposed extension of civil & environmental engineering building{vertical & horizontal} drawing existing & new layouts. structural design, drawing and detailing of r.c. suspended slab, staircase, foundation, beams and column and the same for structural steel trusses & connections.
  • Under the Adjunct prof.(Eng.) R.Onchiri, assisted administration of coursework structural design unit in structural steel, timber and connections.
  • Under the Adjunct prof.(Eng.) R.Onchiri, assisted administration of coursework and assessment of structural design unit in reinforced concrete design. The course included principles/knowledge in concrete & design of various structural element.
  • Under the Adjunct prof.(Eng.) K.S. Makhanu, assisted in law, ethics & professional practise unit. Activity, including {different semesters} assisting course administration and conducting assessment/assignment.
  • Actively involved in departmental examination management including submission of exams, dealing with examinations’ issues from student.
  • Facilitation the presentation of Student Research Project I and Student Research Project II units. Compiling budget estimates for undergraduate research project proposals.
  • Involved in the department’s course allocation.
  • Site inspection for civil works within Egerton university- Laying of precast concrete paving slabs. Where I represented my chairman of department.

  • Drawing, detailing for proposed toilet block.
  • Signing of documents on behalf of the company during the period of my power of attorney.
  • Drawing and detailing of steel for 3 publicity signboards. In consultation with other stakeholders, I played a leading role in fabrication, painting and installation of 3 public sign boards for the company.
  • Preparation of the company’s registration documents to National Construction Authority.

March 2013 to May/June 2013: Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Nyeri, Kenya

  • Teaching, preparing and marking assessment tests and exams for two Courses: Environment and Technology & Fliud Mechanics;

24th February, 2011 to 7th May,2015: Policol International Company Limited, Nairobi, Kenya.

  • Structural Design, drawing, detailing for various projects residential or commercial. This included autoCAD and design template using excel.
  • Supervision of roadworks for Rehabilitation of Kilimani Road:- This included construction drainageworks, tendering for the project roadworks and project documentation.
  • Tendering, correspondences, project documentation/management, project closure role for proposed construction or awarded projects.
  • Supervision of building works at Nairobi Technical Training Institute involving construction of laboratories/workshop.
  • Checked for construction work tenders, Tendering, pre-tender site visit and B.o.Q.
  • Preparation of document for registration to National Construction Authority and renewal for registration and be legally allowed to conduct construction works in Kenya.
  • Facilitating the acquisition of insurance and performance bond(s).
